My name is Jake Thompson and I'm a social media manager, content strategist, and short form digital writer living and working in Los Angeles, CA. I have over 6 years of digital and online video content experience and 4 years of TV production background.
For the past year, I left World of Wonder Productions (RuPaul's Drag Race, etc) as the head of Social Media (after 4 years) wherein I spearheaded and managed our content calendar and initiatives, wrote short form comedic digital shorts for our YouTube channel and exclusive interviews on our blog. I also managed our deliverables, budget, and deadlines over 8 social media accounts (I also covered RuPaul's DragCon's social accounts).
Afterwards, I did freelance Social Media Management for Discovery Channel and my latest at Mythical Entertainment for their YouTube Original daily show series "Good Mythical Morning." As their content strategist and channel manager, I troubleshot videos, analyzed titling and thumbnail designs with audience effectiveness and reaction, and continued to stay on top of the online video ecosystem. I collaborated with writers, designers, and other creatives to produce daily online video content, as well as grow our network and analyzed our data every week.
My special skills include Hootsuite, Photoshop, InDesign, Layout, iMovie, FinalCut Pro, Art19, YouTube, YouTube Analytics, Libysn, Slack, Google Docs, Google Calendar, Basecamp, Xcel, Ariett, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat.
